try it now HOW YOUR BODY CHANGES OVER TIME
Think about your bodily changes over the following time periods. How do you notice that your body changes over the course of an hour, a day, a month, a year, a decade or a lifetime? Think about both objective changes (e.g. losing an erection after ejaculation, having a particular illness), as well as how you felt in your body (e.g. buzzy, tired, warm).
Hour
You might like to consider an hour during which you had some form of sexual, sensual or erotic experience. Perhaps note how your body changed before, during and after the experience.
Day
Consider how your body changes over the course of a day from when you wake up to when you go back to sleep. Pay particular attention to sexual experiences and how they relate to other aspects of your bodily state.
Month
You could think about the month just gone, or you might like to keep some kind of record over the coming month, taking some notes every day. Notice what’s going on with your body each day of the month and how it feels for you, as well as noticing how that relates to the sexual side of your life.
Year
Think back over the past year. What changes have happened in your body during that time? This might include changes that have happened to it, like having an illness or accident, and changes you have made to it, like starting a physical activity or getting a tattoo. What changes happened, and how did they influence how you felt in the body? What relationship did you notice between that and your sexual, sensual or erotic experiences?
Decade
Reflect back over the past decade in a similar way. There may have been more major changes during this period, for example, moving from adolescence to adulthood, having a child, becoming disabled, recovering from a major illness, or making changes to your body to reflect your gender – or other – identity. How did such major bodily shifts feel? How did they relate – if at all – to your experience of your sexuality?
Lifetime
Finally, allow yourself to reflect back over the whole course of your lifetime in a similar way. Were there any big turning points in terms of how your body worked, or how you experienced it? What about the future? What kinds of changes are likely to happen, and what impact might those have? What are your hopes and fears about potential bodily changes and how they will relate to your sexual, erotic or sensual experience?
